Cult of Body & Soul is a 7-part documentary series created by Jess Rothschild that takes listeners inside the world of SoulCycle, not just the workouts, but the energy, the community, and the rituals that made it feel like so much more. The show explores how candlelight, charisma, and the promise of transformation helped SoulCycle capture the New York City moment and become a place where people came to feel seen, powerful, and connected.

But the series also looks at the other side of the story. It uncovers the intense power dynamic between riders and instructors, the mysterious and highly selective instructor training program, and the real journey of founders Julie Rice and Elizabeth Cutler. And yes, it digs into the political scandal that turned the brand’s glow into something far more complicated.

With interviews from instructors, studio managers, front desk staff, and corporate insiders, Cult of Body & Soul paints a fuller, more honest picture of a phenomenon that blurred the line between fitness class and spiritual experience.

  • Created sound design elements to evoke atmosphere, energy, and the signature SoulCycle experience
  • Mixed episodes to achieve a polished, immersive, documentary-style sound
