Connections with Evan Dawson is a daily talk show from WXXI News that brings people together for honest, curious conversations. In July 2022, I joined the show to talk about something I know well: what it’s like to leave your hometown, return to it (more than once), and figure out where you feel most at home.

What followed was a fun, heartfelt conversation about Western New York: what I love about it, why I’ve come back again, and how the idea of “home” shifts as we grow. It was a chance to reflect, laugh, and talk openly about belonging, roots, and starting fresh.
